Established in 1973, PDH started its journey with three prominent garages in Brighton – Patcham, Downsway, and Highcroft. Fast forward to today, we’ve blossomed into one of Sussex’s most notable car dealerships, boasting an inventory of over 200 premium vehicles. And while we aim to set the gold standard for dealerships in Sussex, our heart remains firmly anchored in our familial values and culture.
1973
PDH Motor Group Opens
Patcham, Downsway and Highcroft sites are opened, with Patcham and Downsway beginning with just a workshop and forecourt, and Highcroft selling cars.
1974
Downlands Site Opens
In March 1974 our Downlands site opened, selling our beloved Fiat vehicles alongside the workshop and forecourt.
1976
PDH Hassocks Opens!
Our current home, our Hassocks showroom opened in November 1976 and still stands strong today. We’re still here, 50 years later, a family-run business providing warm and friendly service to local drivers across Sussex with our four core brands: Fiat, Abarth, Jeep and Alfa Romeo.

Bognor Regis Site Opens
The Bognor Regis dealership, petrol station and garage were acquired by PDH Motor Group alongside our current Hassocks showroom!
1977
Robin Hood Forecourt Opens
Robin Hood was our first petrol station to offer drivers those all-important pit-stop snacks! Selling confectionery, sandwiches and cigarettes.
1978
North Road Site Opens
1978 marked our eighth and final site of the seventies to open. What a decade! Located on North Road in Brighton this site sold cars as well as having a forecourt and servicing centre. In 1981 the workshop was sadly gutted by a fire, and a few years later, in 1985, the site was transferred over to Lewes Road.
1980
Lancing Manor Petrol Station Opens
Lancing Manor Filling Station opened as a new site for PDH in 1980 and remained in operation until July of 1994. It’s also where our director Duncan started his first job at 16!

Old Shoreham Road Dealership & Petrol Station Opens

Pyecombe Petrol Station & Gyratory Petrol Station & Car Wash
Pyecombe, pictured here, and Gyratory Petrol Station and Car Wash were both opened in 1991 and ran under PDH’s management throughout the nineties.

Findon Valley Dealership & Workshop
Many of you may remember our Findon Valley dealership in Worthing, as it was the last of the other PDH Motor Group sites to close in 2017.

Worthing Motor Show
We have enjoyed meeting drivers at many motor shows over the years. Here we are at Worthing Motor Show, held in Steyne Gardens in 2006, showing off some of our favourite Fiat cars.

40 Years Of PDH Motor Group
In November 2012 we celebrated 40 years of PDH. Later in this decade we also decided to focus on making Hassocks the best dealership in Sussex, with our final location in Worthing closing in 2017.

A New Chapter For PDH Motor Group
For many years, we represented Fiat as a new car dealership and aftercare specialist. You may also know us from having bought a brilliant new Jeep, Alfa Romeo or Abarth vehicle at PDH in recent years. From 2023, we are taking a different road, as we embark on a new journey as an independent used car dealership. We will remain Fiat, Abarth, Jeep and Alfa specialists, drawing on our experience working with these brands over the years and applying it to Servicing, Repairs and Used Car sales.
